Steve Williams denied accusations by porn star Joslyn James that they’d met in nightclubs and put an end to speculation that he wouldn’t be caddying for Tiger Woods at the Masters, FoxSports.com reported yesterday.
“I know this woman hasn’t met me in a nightclub with Tiger because I’ve never been to a nightclub with Tiger,” Williams said from his home in New Zealand.
Woods said in a television interview yesterday that those closest to him were in the dark about his dalliances.
“I’m the one who acted the way I acted,” he said. “No one knew what was going on when it was going on. I’m sure if more people would have known in my inner circle, they would have stopped it or tried to put a stop to it.”
Williams has steadfastly — and publicly — maintained that he knew nothing of Woods’ secret life of porn stars and cocktail waitresses, prompting rumors that he’d be fired for talking too much.
But Williams confirmed that he would be on Woods’ bag for his comeback tournament next month at Augusta National.
“I told Tiger I’d be there,” he said.
