EACH day during the NCAA tournament, hoop maven Tim Sullivan, the Post’s two-time defending Satur day’s Heroes champion, will offer his plays of the day:

Georgetown (+31/2) over North Carolina: Both teams – pushed to the limit Friday – are fortunate to be here and they know it. One’s going to capitalize on its auspicious fate and because of its clamp-down defense, because of its Princeton offense, because of its magic carpet ride. We’ll take the Hoyas and the points.

North Carolina has mounted monster rallies in this tourney, and the Tar Heels are where they are because of that. But the Hoyas’ offense is too slow-moving, too deliberate for an opponent to mount such a comeback, should that same scenario resurface. Even if it doesn’t, the Hoyas’ defense should be good enough to keep it a one-possession game.

Florida (-61/2) over Oregon: Hate to go against our bread and butter in this tourney as the Ducks have given us two terrific covers. But the Gators haven’t hit a number since the first round and are clearly overdue. They’ve spent the past 48 hours hearing how well they’re not playing. Time to squash that talk . . . and get back to the Final Four.
