TAMPA, Fla. – The Cardinals for the first time this week got on the practice field yesterday at the Buccaneers training facility and WR Anquan Boldin participated fully, showing no sign of the strained hamstring that caused him to miss the playoff victory over the Panthers.

“He looked good, but he also looked good late last week,” Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “We took it a little easier on him early last week just to be safe.”

Two other players battling through injuries, DE Antonio Smith and LB Travis LaBoy, were able to work on a limited basis. Whisenhunt said the practice was “much better” than a normal Wednesday practice because the majority of the offensive and defensive gameplan was installed last week back in Arizona.

WR Larry Fitzgerald was taken aback by reports that he’s willing to restructure his contract to help the Cardinals keep Boldin. “I’m not really sure where that report came from,” Fitzgerald said. “Somebody asked me a question, if I would be willing to help the team and I said ‘Sure, no problem.’ “

Steelers WR Hines Ward, who did not practice yesterday, brought a hyperbaric chamber with him to his hotel room to sleep in to aid in his recovery from a right-knee sprain.

“Sleeping is good,” Ward said. “I’ve been doing it – it’s not like I just started – all year. Unfortunately, I came down with a knee injury, but that’s what I’ve been doing. I let the cat out of the bag. I’ve been sleeping in it all year. I am a firm believer in it.”

Steelers S Ryan Clark played for the Giants in 2002 and 2003 as an undrafted player out of LSU. “To be cut, to hear Tom Coughlin say, ‘Maybe you can play in this league, you should really focus on being a special teams player’ kind of lit a fire under me,” Clark recalled.

“That was his honest assessment of who I was. That didn’t anger me at all. I actually took heed of it and when I went to camp with the Washington Redskins, I tried to excel on special teams. That was probably some of the most sound and best advice I got.”
