The official announcement and signing will come at a morning press conference today when the “interim” tag will formally be expunged from Don Casey’s title as Nets head coach.

“I’m very happy. I think he did a great job and I think he’ll continue to do a great job,” Keith Van Horn said.

Casey, 62, who led the Nets to a 13-17 record after taking over when John Calipari was fired March 15, gets an incentive-laden three-year deal that has only the first year guaranteed ($1.1 million). Casey’s staff of Eddie Jordan, Jim Lynam and Mike O’Koren is expected to return.

“Don Casey was the man for the job. Everybody was talking Phil Jackson,” said Jayson Williams, while running his “All-Star Celebrity Barbecue” charity event yesterday.”Basketball is 80 percent personnel, 10 percent luck and 10 percent coaching. Lou Carnesecca told me that. We overrate these coaches. Plus, I’ve never seen a coach win two different championships on two different teams so let’s go with Case.”
