Kip Lewis, the son of Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Sherman Lewis, will shortly be named the weekend sports anchor at Ch. 11, sources yesterday confirmed.

Lewis, 36 and currently a sports reporter at Boston’s NBC affiliate, played for the NY/NJ Knights of the World Football League and for the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL. He’ll replace Sean Kimerling, who, at age 37, died in September from cancer.
