Playing in behalf of the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Post assistant sports editor Ralph Wimbish won second place in the inaugural Master of the Green Charity Putting Invitational yesterday at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway.

The contest was held to preview Empire City’s latest promotion, Master of the Green Hot Seat, which will be every Monday in April. Hourly drawings between 4-9 p.m. will be held on April 13, 20 and 27 to give Empire Club members a chance to putt for $200-500 in free plays and $1,000 in cash. Only Empire Club members are eligible to compete.

Wimbish, whose $500 prize was donated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, finished second to News 12 Westchester sports reporter Jared Greenberg, who nailed a $1,000 putt to win $1,000 in behalf of the Yonkers PAL.

News 12 Westchester sports anchor Walt Fowler, also playing in behalf of the Yonkers PAL, finished third.
