The Post continues its profiles of each of the eight Breeders’ Cup races to be run tomorrow at Churchill Downs. The Countdown spotlights potential nice-price winners as handicapped by reporter Ed Fountaine and thoroughbred racing columnist Ray Kerrison. Today, we focus on the Turf, followed by the Classic. Good luck.

Three-year-olds. Purse: $3 million. Distance: Mile-and-a-half on turf.

Post time: 4:35 p.m. Bets: WPS, exacta, trifecta, superfecta, daily double.

ANALYSIS: Two important factors are 1) proven ability at the distance; and 2) how will the horse handle the ground, which should have plenty of give in it after several days of rain.

European champ Hurricane Run, last year’s Arc de Triomphe winner, would blow these away on his best day, but he seems to be tailing off.

English Channel, who won the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic by 4½ lengths, is one of the best American grass horses in years and has won over this course. Cacique is right there with English Channel every time but has never run a mile-and-a-half.

LIVE LONGSHOTS: Go Deputy has beaten lesser competition at the distance. Europe’s Red Rocks has three seconds from three starts at a mile-and-a-half. Scorpion is a proven stayer who was beaten a halflength by Hurricane Run in last year’s Irish Derby. He’s fresh, having run once this year.

THE BET:We’ll gamble that Hurricane Run has one good race left.

Key him in the superfecta with Scorpion, Red Rocks, English Channel and Cacique. Box the three Euros in the trifecta.

TOMORROW: Ray Kerrison on the Classic.
