FC Dallas signed diminutive forward/midfielder Alvaro Sanchez on loan from AD San Carlos of Costa Rica’s Primera Division. The 24-year-old Sanchez had 10 goals and 14 assists in 44 games with San Carlos since 2007; and he made his full National Team debut at the UNCAF Nations Cup, where he tied for the tourney lead with two goals.

But the question for the left-footed Sanchez is can he handle the physicality in MLS? The cat is just 5-foot-6, 147-pounds, and they already have one Hobbit-sized guy in David Ferreira, a 5-foot-5, 145-lb. Colombian who is looking more and more like an expensive bust every game.
