DAVID’S READY TUA RUMBLE
David Tua swears that he won’t look past Russell Chasteen when he faces him Nov. 30 at the Taj Majal.
“Knowing what I know now, you train just as hard for anybody,” said Tua, who will fight Hasim Rahman sometime in March. “I’m looking forward to [the Chasteen fight] first.”
Although there is no date set, a Tua-Rahman rematch will take place for the IBF’s top ranking. Their controversial first bout ended when Tua landed a punch just as the bell sounded. A dazed Rahman said the punch was late, but the ref stopped the fight in Tua’s favor.
“I didn’t want to end the fight like that,” Tua said (41-3, 36 KOs) yesterday. “To win it in such a fashion wasn’t what I wanted.”
