“The Big One” came early on Sunday afternoon at the Daytona 500.
The race was 14 laps in when a 16-car crash wreaked havoc on the NASCAR track, though the drivers appeared to escape unscathed.
Sixteen cars were involved in a crash during the Daytona 500 on Feb. 14, 2021. APThe crash, which appeared to be set off when Kyle Busch bumped his teammate Christopher Bell, caught cars in their rear as collateral, including drivers Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman and Martin Truex Jr.
The crash caused a red-flag stoppage.
Soon after the crash, storms rolled in and further delayed the race.
