Here are my picks for this week’s Masters:
Dustin Johnson
OK, he’s No. 1 in the world, so this isn’t exactly standing out on a limb. But DJ has done everything at Augusta but slip on the green jacket. He has four finishes in the top 10 in his last four Masters and those include a tie for sixth, fourth and second. This may be his time.
Xander Shauffele
He’s played in only two Masters, finishing tied for second last year. But Schauffele, ranked eighth in the world, has proven himself to be an unflappable force in majors and he’s closing in on winning one.

Tyrell Hatton
The quirky Brit, who’s become most known for wearing hoodie sweatshirts on the golf course, has not fared well in his three Masters, with his top finish a tie for 44th. But he’s in good form this year with two wins and four top-five finishes.
Rory McIlroy
His pursuit of a first Masters win to complete the career Grand Slam carries on. Look for McIlroy to be in contention this week despite the fact that his form has not been great since the PGA Tour restart in June.
Bryson DeChambeau
The world expects him to win the Masters after the way he dismantled Winged Foot en route to his U.S. Open victory. It should be a fascinating journey for him this week, but the obvious picks rarely win.
