He stretches out from seven furlongs to try two turns for the first time and faces a tough customer in Rule, but Uptowncharlybrown’s obvious fondness for this quirky track surface should get him home on top.

LOWDOWN: Lady Shakespeare, in her first start this year off a three-month layoff, finished fast in a stakes at Gulfstream to miss by a head. Last year, the well-bred filly won four straight on turf.
