LOWDOWN: Evita Argentina owns a victory over 2-year-old filly champ Stardom Bound in the Sorrento last August. She ran ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, but bounced back from that defeat to take the Moccasin at today’s distance with a powerful late run. The daughter of Candy Ride worked a bullet six furlongs last week over this track and gets Garrett Gomez in the boot.

LOWDOWN: Square Eddie, second as the favorite in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile over this track and distance, takes his first step as a 3-year-old on the Triple Crown trail. The Smart Strike colt has been training smartly for his return. Take the short price.

LAST WEEK: Pick Six (7-1) ran ninth in the Ft. Lauderdale at Gulfstream. Au Moon (9-2) finished third in the LeComte at Fair Grounds paying $4 to show. Well Armed was fourth as the 3-2 favorite in the San Pascual at Santa Anita.
