$elling out TV soccer
* Kudos to Phil Mushnick for personifying responsible sports journalism with his column on cable networks turning the other cheek toward Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV’s buy-out of U.S. cable soccer rights. Sports fans need to boycott this coverage. A free world depends on us in this situation. Money talks.

* Alex Rodriguez hasn’t failed any drug tests, so MLB wants to nail him for associating with the Biogenesis guy. If you substitute MLB for the House Committee on Un-American Activities, A-Rod for left-leaning Hollywood writers, and Biogenesis for the U.S. Communist Party, what do you have? Something an awful lot like the 1950s McCarthy hearings.

Bull spit!
* I considered taking my young son to a Red Bulls game. No longer. It’s bad enough fans enjoy chanting profanities during games. It’s worse when team coach Mike Petke says, “whatever they yell, I respect and support them.” Message received: I’ll keep my son far, far away.
