By the time you wake up Saturday morning, Manchester United may have already been crowned EPL champs.

United, led by goalscoring sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, needs only a point to match Liverpool’s record of 18 English league titles — but don’t expect Arsenal to just roll over.

The Gunners haven’t won the league in five years and will add to an already disappointing season if they hand the title to the Red Devils at Old Trafford. United manager Alex Ferguson is wary of Arsenal crashing the party at home and leaving United to earn that point on the road next weekend against a Hull side currently battling relegation. That game will be played just three days before the Champions League final on May 27 against Barcelona.

“What we want to try and do is win the league [on Saturday],” Ferguson told reporters on Fridat afternoon. “We’ve got to concentrate on winning the league and, by doing that, we have to achieve that the best way.”

United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged his teammates not to be complacent, despite overwhelming Arsenal recently in the Champions League semifinals.

“Our performances in both legs of the semifinal were two of the best of the season,” said Ferdinand, who will be sidelined this weekend due to a calf injury.

“It can sometimes be a dangerous situation when you beat a team fairly convincingly and play them again soon after, because they’ll probably feel they have something to prove.”
