The Red Bulls’ deal for winger Ernst Obster is done. He’s not coming on a loan, but Red Bull Salzburg gave him his release and he’s signed with Red Bull New York.
Now they’re just waiting for his P-1 visa, physical and his ITC card. His appointment in Vienna is July 23, but they’re trying to get that bumped up; and since his ITC is coming from the Salzburg sister club there shouldn’t be any drama. But one never knows, do one?
(And by the way, I’ve officially joined 2009. I’m finally on Twitter.)
A decision should be coming down on Serbian striker Veljko Paunovic within the next 24 or 48 hours. The 31-year-old la Liga veteran has offers from Europe, so they’ll need to determine something by the time the window opens.
Newly-signed defender Leo Krupnik is still awaiting his ITC as well. It can’t be requested until tomorrow at 10 a.m., but his team has been alerted that the request will be forthcoming.
I’m getting conflicting answers about that third transfer, so he may or may not be coming. I hope to have a clearer picture on that later. If he isn’t signed, the shopping may end with Krupnik, Obster and _ maybe _ Paunovic. Perhaps.
