Italy enters Day 7 of the European Championship with the do-or-die task of having to beat Romania when the two meet today at 11:55 a.m. ET. The game will be followed by another Group C clash pitting France and Holland at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The Italians, 3-0 losers to Holland on Monday, need to get at least a tie to remain alive in their hunt for a spot in the quarterfinals. Coach Roberto Donadoni has made some changes to the squad, starting Alessandro Del Piero (as well as naming him team captain) alongside striker Luca Toni with Antonio Cassano in the playmaker position. Donadoni, and Italian fans, hope the changes result in goals and a win.

Holland and France is another interesting match-up and if the Dutch play like they did against Italy, then the French don’t have a prayer. As usual, France, with one point after tying Romania, always puts in a good fight and the Dutch may need to up the tempo even more than they did against Italy in order to get the win.
