Formula 1 comes to North America for the first time this season with the Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix set for this weekend.
It’s the third running of this particular 57-lap race at the 3.363 mile, 19-turn track at Miami International Autodrome, built around Hard Rock Stadium and the surrounding areas.
The inaugural race in 2022 and last year’s Miami Grand Prix were both won by the same driver: Red Bull Racing Honda RBPT’s Max Verstappen. Verstappen is currently first in the 2024 driver standings after five races with 110 points; his RBR teammate Sergio Perez sits in second with 85 points.
As always, a grand prix weekend is a three-day affair, beginning with practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying on Saturday, and the main event on Sunday afternoon; however, this weekend is also a sprint weekend, so a few of the practice sessions will be replaced with qualifying for the shorter race and the sprint itself on Sunday afternoon.
