FASSEL HAS SURGERY
Giants coach Jim Fassel underwent surgery yesterday to remove bone spurs in his neck and spent last night at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He is expected to be released today.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Paul McCormick, a neurosurgeon, who said in a statement, “The surgery went well. It was a routine procedure, and I anticipate a full recovery.”
Last season, Fassel experienced numbness in his left fingers and arm, and the condition worsened this offseason. He was in discomfort leading up to the NFL Draft, and when attempts to alleviate the problem with therapy and medication failed, he opted for surgery.
