In the Floral Park Handicap for fillies and mares at six furlongs, the first of yesterday’s three stakes, front-running Cologny appeared home free leading by daylight in deep stretch, but 6-5 favorite Feline Story, the only 3-year-old in a field of five, came with relentless late run under Edgar Prado to catch Cologny in final strides.

2ND RACE – Main-track-only Diligent Gambler, stepping up to $40,000 tag making first start since being claimed for 35G by Leah Gyarmati from Dominic Schettino out of two-length score at Spa, sat off early pace, rallied wide on turn, went to front deep stretch for seventh win in last 10 starts; first of two straight winners for hot-riding Javier Castellano.

4TH RACE – Never-say-die ride by Rich Migliore on Inevitably True. He pressed pace set by A Very Young Jet to her outside, couldn’t keep up and dropped back turning for home, came again up rail down stretch, clawed to lead final sixteenth but couldn’t hold off late surge of Distinctive Trick in final yards.
