Timing isn’t everything.

A Florida State football player went through with his proposal after a brutal loss to Jacksonville State in the last seconds of the game on Saturday.

FSU allowed the Gamecocks to score a 59-yard touchdown in the final play of the game at home in Tallahassee, Fla. — giving their FCS opponent a 20-17 win. Jacksonville State quarterback Zerrick Cooper threw a deep pass to wide receiver Damond Philyaw-Johnson, who scored the game-winning touchdown.

And while Jacksonville State celebrated the wild win on the field, redshirt junior offensive lineman Brady Scott got down on one knee and popped the question to girlfriend, Makala Peirce, an FSU alum.

Scott took to Instagram to share photos with his fiancee during and after the proposal. The bride-to-be was all smiles as she waved her oval-shaped diamond ring in the camera.

“You are my world,” Scott captioned his post. “Forever with you will make me the happiest man in the world! Makala Scott has a nice Ring to it.”

Photos of Scott’s proposal have made their way around the internet, and some critics can’t believe he went through with it.

“Is the the FSU proposal picture for real and not photoshopped? That can’t be real,” one person tweeted.

“Why you proposing in week 2???” ” another questioned, suggesting, “that’s very much an end of the season event and only if y’all winning games.”
