For its league championship coverage, Fox Sports will add Lou Piniella and Bob Brenly, a network spokesman confirmed yesterday.

Fox Sports’ first choice was Yankee pitcher Al Leiter. But he won’t be available with the Yankees in the postseason, so Fox went elsewhere.

Piniella is expected to work with Joe Buck and Tim McCarver while Brenly will likely team with Thom Brennaman and Steve Lyons.
