Walt Frazier has seen the Knicks in this position before, when they dropped a home game that would have won a series, only to go on the road and be victorious in the decisive game.
Facing the Celtics in the Eastern Conference final in 1973, the Knicks lost Game 6 at the Garden and had the unenviable task of having to win the deciding game at Boston Garden.
Many people thought the Knicks had no chance. But they clocked the Celtics a good one, and went on to win the championship.
Twenty-six years later, the Knicks are in a similar situation against Miami. Maybe because he went through it, Frazier thinks the Knicks have a good chance.
“They like being the underdogs,” the former star guard and current MSG broadcaster said.
