A French swimmer with two Olympic gold medals is being investigated for rape.
Yannick Agnel, 29, was arrested Thursday in Paris in connection with the rape and sexual assault of a 15-year-old, the AFP reported, citing a prosecutor.
Agnel won two gold medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The investigation stems from a five-year-old complaint by a swimmer who trained with Agnel at the Mulhouse swimming club between 2014 and 2016, according to the report.
Numerous current and past swimmers have been interviewed in recent weeks, reported French sports daily L’Equipe.
The swimming club is reportedly embroiled in a monetary dispute with several former swimmers, including Agnel.
