Two Fresno State fans at Saturday’s homecoming win over San Jose were hospitalized after a coach punched a window, sending shattered glass flying onto a section at Bulldogs Stadium, according to OutKick.
A mother and her young daughter were treated for lacerations they suffered from falling glass after a coach punched out a window in the press box above the bleachers. The injured fans were treated at Valley Children’s Hospital, where one reportedly required stitches.
After the game, Fresno State athletic director Terry Tumey said the unnamed coach has been placed on administrative leave amid an investigation into the incident.

“We have to have some disciplinary action until we can figure out what transpired. But our biggest concern right now, quite honestly, is our fans and the young women, the child, and her mother.”

Tumey reportedly declined to identify the coach, but said it was not one of the Bulldogs’ 11 on-field coaches.
The incident occurred after the visiting Spartans scored a touchdown late in the second quarter. The girl’s father was visibly upset, according to GVWire reporter David Taub, who reported that police spoke to the coach.
