LOS ANGELES — David Stern announced yesterday Los Angeles will play host to the 2011 All-Star Game and said New York is in the running for 2012 to coincide with the Garden’s renovation.

Nevertheless, the Garden might not be favorites because of the murkiness of its completion.

“They have mentioned their interest, the renovation being their starting point,” Stern told The Post. “I’ve seen the plans. It’s spectacular.”

Boston also is being strongly considered.
