ABSTRACT:
DENVER – Now you know what they meant by Galloping Ghost. How you can feel the tremor of his clopping footsteps and hear his scary snort as he trucks toward you, big and fast and terribly out of control. But when you wrap your arms around him, all you hug is yourself. He’s gone.
Not that Terrell Davis needs Red Grange’s nickname. But it fits so well, especially yesterday after he ran through the Dophins as if they were white and teal globs of shaving cream. Call him what you want:
TD
MVP
GOD.
But know that a Terrell Davis comes once a millenium. On the day he was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, Davis rushed for 199 yards on 21 carries yesterday to grease the Broncos’ 38-3 roasting of the Fish in an AFC second-round game.
