If you’re waiting for Jason Giambi to suffer the same penalty as Rafael Palmeiro, don’t hold your breath.

In the wake of yesterday’s revelation that Palmeiro has not only failed a drug test but has been defeated in the appeals process, The Post has learned Giambi never has failed a drug test with the Yankees.

Although Giambi reportedly testified to a grand jury that he was a steroid user last offseason, he has come through the testing process OK.

Giambi’s agent, Arn Tellem, could not be reached for comment.
