There was concern, but not panic on the Staten Island Academy sideline. The Tigers trailed for the second-straight day, this time by two goals midway through the first half after Fieldston’s Hanna Kaeser and Tory Schmidt found the back the net.

“We just have confidence,” Staten Island Academy coach Carlene Crowe said. “We are not going to be shutout, so if we go down 1-0, 2-0 we know we are going to score.”

SIA rallied by scoring right before the half and Danielle Fuller scored twice after the break, including her third winner of the postseason, to give her team a 3-2 win over No. 3 Fieldston in the NYSAISAA girl soccer semifinals at the College of Staten Island Friday.

“She has scored four goals in two games,” Crowe said. “It’s just incredible.”

Fuller ran on to a through ball from Amanda Moschella, dodged the sweeper and scored the winner to the left side in the 75th minute. She tied the score at 2 in the 55th minute on another pass from Moscella. Fuller dribbled left across the goal, but struck the ball inside the right post.

Gabby Tricorico got SIA (17-0-1) on the board by blasting a 35-yard free kick over the Eagles (14-3-2) wall and just under the middle of the crossbar in the 30th minute. It gave her team some momentum going into the break.

SIA advances to the state final for the first time since 2008 when it lost to Hackley. It meets No. 1 and unbeaten Riverdale 1 p.m. Sunday at Manhattanville College for the championship.

“We are right where we wanted to be,” Crowe said.

No. 1 Riverdale 1, No. 5 Dalton 0: Athena Bermeo ran onto a through ball up the middle of the field from Zoe Clark and scored the winner from 25 yards out in the 22nd minute for No. 1 Riverdale (16-0-2) in the NYSAISAA semifinals at Fordham University. No. 5 Dalton (8-5-3) had a corner kick headed off the crossbar in the final minutes. The Falcons are in their first final since 2007.
