St. Joseph by the Sea needed at least a tie to secure second place in CHSAA Staten Island. Erini Farid made sure that was the case.
She scored off a scramble in the box late in the second half to secure the Vikings a 1-1 tie with Notre Dame Academy in Huguenot on Saturday. It earned St. Joseph by the Sea (5-4-1) a bye in the upcoming CHSAA intersectional playoffs. Shannon Rubin gave third-place NDA a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick midway through the second half. The Gators (4-2-4) open the playoffs Saturday.
