Anne Fredrickson had seven blocks to led Tottenville to a marathon, 25-17, 26-28, 25-16 victory against Curtis at home Friday in PSAL Staten Island A9 girls volleyball.
Emily Chow had four aces for the Pirates (3-0), who are off to their best start in years. Tottenville, which won just five games in 2007 and 2008 combined, lost to Curtis twice last year in three-set matches.
On Saturday, first-year coach Kathy Scali’s team hosts its annual tournament. Curtis fell to 1-3.
Flushing 2, Hillcrest 0: Erica Bermeo had seven kills and Daniela Calle and Geraldine Messina each had six assists to lead Flushing (3-1) in Queens A8. Maria Santos and Messina each had five assists. Hillcrest is 0-3.

Susan Wagner 2, Poly Prep 0: Emily Burke had 10 kills and Amanda Fiore had 15 assists for Wagner. Karolina Wisniewski added six kills.
