There’s more to the story behind Brooks Koepka’s sexy beach snap with girlfriend Jena Sims.

Speaking with the media on Wednesday, the 29-year-old golfer spoke about a previous vacation with his model gal pal, which included a close encounter of the fan kind.

“Yeah, I’ve had people. I think — where were we last time? I think we were in the BVIs [British Virgin Islands], and we were walking through some rocks, and some fans walked up and tried to take a picture,” Koepka said, according to Golf Digest. “I think that’s when, I don’t know, Jena was trying to make some Instagram photo. I don’t know. It was pretty funny. She’s laughing at it now. If you only knew what was going on.”

In the photo, which was posted in April, a topless Sims is seen straddling Koepka in the sand. She captioned the image, “I lava you.”

Though Koepka’s focus this week has been on the Tour Championship, he did take a social media break Wednesday to promote his spread in ESPN’s upcoming Body Issue.

“September 4th go get a copy of the @ESPN Body Issue! #ESPNBody,” Koepka wrote alongside an apparent nude photo.

It didn’t take long for Sims to reply, “We are getting good at these wardrobe malfunctions.”
