Holly Sonders isn’t afraid to laugh at her slip of the tongue.
During a recent broadcast of the US Open sectional qualifying, the Fox Sports host used a different term to discuss the subject matter.
“Head to http://www.usopen.com. Everything will be there. The entire days of sexual qualifying,” she said.
While the clip has since gone viral, Sonders, 31, addressed the gaffe heard round the world Wednesday on Twitter.
“SECTIONAL qualifying is complete! ‘Sexual’ qualifying isn’t a thing … and I didn’t have the time to make a joke about my mistakes as we needed to get off the air 60 sec later,” Sonders posted. “If [co-hosts] Brad [Faxon] and Shane [Bacon] had even cracked a smile we wouldn’t have made it through the segment.”
Sonders also took to Instagram, accentuating the correct pronunciation.
“SECTIONAL qualifying,” she wrote.
