When Justin Thomas hits his next big putt, he may pull a sharpie out of his shoe and sign the ball. Or chug a cup of popcorn. Or wave some pom-poms.

After Thomas drilled a 17-foot winning putt on the 18th hole of the Presidents Cup on Friday, the 26-year-old American unleashed a Terrell Owens inspired scream — “I love me some me!” — while celebrating with captain Tiger Woods.

At the post-round press conference, Thomas confirmed he’d recently watched footage of the former divisive wide receiver.

“Should I tell him?” Thomas asked Rickie Fowler when asked what he’d said during the excitement.

Prior to the round, Thomas had watched video of one of Owens’ most infamous moments with his teammates.

“There’s a video of Terrell Owens, just T.O. being T.O., but he yells ‘I love me some me!’” Thomas said. “And I showed it to the guys this morning, they hadn’t seen it, and I said, ‘If I make a big putt today, I’m yelling it.’ And that was about the biggest putt I could make, so I figured it was a pretty appropriate time to yell it.”

Woods didn’t need the refresher of the former 49er’s remark.

“Very familiar with it,” Woods said. “We were looking at it, and we had our moment on the last hole, and we both said it at the same time.”
