Max Homa’s wife, Lacey, couldn’t believe it.

On Sunday, the 31-year-old golfer won the Fortinet Championship for the second straight year following a wild finish, in which he chipped in a birdie from over 30 feet out on the 18th hole.

After Homa’s heroics, Danny Willett still had a four-foot putt for the win. Instead, the Englishman blew that putt several feet by the the hole and missed the comebacker, giving Homa a one-shot victory.

A visibly stunned Lacey remarked, “He just won? What?!” in a now-viral video shared on the PGA Tour’s Instagram page.

“I’m shaking!” continued in the clip.

Homa and Lacey later shared a sweet embrace in the video.

“I still don’t know really know what happened,” Homa said after the victory. “The last three minutes are kind of a blur.”

Homa also acknowledged that the circumstances were crazy.

“I spun it and once it hit the pin, it almost like spun straight into the ground. It was just one of those things,” Homa said. “Golf’s a weird game, some crazy stuff happens on the last hole it seems like and that was very crazy.”

On Instagram, Homa noted that his three closest friends were there to see him win the tournament.

“Special win. First time we had the whole nucleus on site w/ 3 of my closest friends there too,” Homa wrote. “On the birthday of the dude who I have strived to live up to, I must say this one means a lot. Thank u for all the support! Winning will simply never get old.”

It’s a busy time for the Homa and Lacey, who are expecting their first child, a baby boy, in the near future.

The couple has been married since 2019.
