Jason Day may be toting a shiny new trophy following Sunday’s victory at the PGA Championship, but no prize can compete with his main squeeze.

Day’s wife of six years, Ellie, has had some serious TV time this year between her husband’s historic triumph Sunday and the vertigo issue that became a huge storyline while he was competing at the US Open in June.

The two met while she was waitressing at a restaurant in Ohio in 2005, but didn’t start dating until years later after a setup by Day’s caddie and longtime coach, Colin Swatton. They were married in 2009.

While away from the fairway, Day and his lady love reside in Ohio, where they’re raising 3-year-old son Dash and eagerly awaiting the arrival of baby No. 2.

Despite her pregnancy, Ellie was a prominent fixture on the greens this weekend, where she watched her hubby capture his first major after multiple near-misses.

She was also quite active on Twitter during the four days, taking followers through the emotional twists and turns of the tournament.

Golf is hard! Lots left. I have nothing but confidence in you Day! @JDayGolf
