Tiger Woods won’t get a chance to get the better of Phil Mickelson at next week’s Farmer Insurance Open in San Diego.
Mickelson, who has a two-stroke lead after two rounds in the Desert Classic, will miss the event at Torrey Pines for the first time in 28 years. Woods committed to playing in the tournament a few days earlier.
Mickelson beat Woods 1-up in “The Match” on Nov. 24 at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, winning the $9 million purse in the winner-take-all event.
