Another day, another hole-in-one and another insane beer shower at the Phoenix Open.

One day after Sam Ryder’s ace on No. 16 sparked a wild scene of beer cans and water bottles thrown all over the green by spectators, Carlos Ortiz executed another one on the same hole Sunday, prompting a similarly frenzied celebration at TPC Scottsdale.

The 30-year-old Ortiz, who began the day 11 strokes behind the leader Sahith Theegala, thrust his arms into the air after his high-arcing tee shot landed on the green and rolled into the cup.

The Mexico native followed up his ace by also posting an eagle on the par-4 17th hole, making him the first player on tour this season to card consecutive eagles.

Ortiz, whose lone win on tour was the 2020 Houston Open, previously scored aces at the 2016 Wells Fargo Championship and the 2020 American Express.

It also marked the first time two players scored a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at the Scottsdale course in the same week since Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker pulled off the feat in 1997.
