Former Mets pitcher Aaron Heilman was traded from the Mariners to the Cubs, according to the Seattle Post Intelligencer.

FOXSports.com also reported the deal.

The trade sends Heilman to Chicago in exchange for Ronny Cedeno and minor-league pitcher Garrett Olson. Heilman was traded from the Mets to Seattle as part of the J.J. Putz deal.

Heilman is expected to compete for the fifth spot in the Cubs’ rotation or be used out of the bullpen.
