Hello Liberty chased pacesetting Win McCool and caught the pacesetter nearing the wire to win the Grade 2 $205,600 Nassau Country Breeders’ Cup. The Larry Jones trainee was the longest shot of the race, paying $21.20 to win. Norberto Arroyo Jr. was aboard for the victory, and she ran the seven furlongs in 1:22.65.

1ST RACEOwns the Place ran to his name in taking the opener. He was trying to get out during the run down the backstretch and, after angling inside on the far turn, he bore out again in the stretch drive. He didn’t impede anyone and drew away for the victory. Metallic Moon had to make an extremely wide move to the front on the turn but flattened out in the stretch.

3RD RACE – Congratulations to jockey Eibar Coa for winning race No. 3000 of his career aboard favored Bernie White Shoes. The Venezuelan native came to the United States in 1993 and was the leading rider at Aqueduct this year on the inner and main track.

4TH RACE – Race was named the New York Post because the winner of The Post contest to win ownership in Scooter Leuci, a two-year-old owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, was announced. Cheers to James Gilmore of Whitestone who was the winner. . After Ginforthewin won the race, Gilmore stood with Scooter Leuci in the winner’s circle.

5TH RACE – Favored Half Mask won but Under Thunder was the best horse in the race. Under Thunder was caught behind horses as the field turned for home and had to wait for running room before exploding in the stretch. But he ran out of ground before catching the favorite.

6TH RACE – Kiaran McLaughlin had hopes that Another Look was doing his Jazil imitation as Another Look came from far back to run down the field for the upset. Favored Trippi’s Storm stalked the pace while outside but came up empty in the stretch drive. Carson City Nights was pulled up on the far turn and was vanned off.
