St. Anthony’s senior Walter Henning set a meet record yesterday at the Archbiship Molloy-Stanner Games for the 25-pound weight throw at 84 feet, 101/4 inches, and for the shot put at 61 feet, 2 inches.
Last Saturday, Henning broke his already existing national high school record for both events. His previous mark for the weight throw was 79-2, until last week when he threw 86-2. His previous mark in the shot put was at 55-21/2, which he shattered with a toss of 61-2.
The New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory in Washington Heights has been forced to expand its cage to accommodate these record-setting feats.
