Frustration seeped out the pores of Thierry Henry.

Finally, in the 22nd minute, Henry chased down a loose ball near Toronto goalkeeper Stefan Frei and was tripped for what would have been a penalty shot. Play halted as Henry waited for a whistle. It never came.

As boos rained down from the crowd of 19,035, Henry found himself in possession again and put on a short showcase of fanciful footwork before passing to Seth Stammler.

The midfielder lobbed the ball from the 18-yard box to a streaking Joel Lindpere, who put the ball away in the lower right corner past the charging keeper, giving the Red Bulls a 1-0 win.

“For me it was a penalty, but the ref didn’t call it,” Henry said. “But we won the game and that’s all that matters.”

After tying four of their past five games, the Red Bulls (9-6-4, 31 points) secured their first win since June 26 at Kansas City. They were missing four starters to international duty, including the newly acquired Rafa Marquez.
