After a record-breaking four years playing NCAA women’s basketball, all-time leading scorer Caitlin Clark will make her professional debut tonight, May 14.

Last month, the point guard was selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever following four years at the University of Iowa, and tonight, she’ll play her first regular-season game in the W.

Clark’s collegiate career ended with the most-watched basketball game on TV since 2019 and the 2024 WNBA Draft also shattered TV rating records, so it’s safe to say there’s a lot of interest in tonight’s tilt against the Connecticut Sun.

While the WNBA airs across a number of channels and streaming services, tonight’s game is set to air on ESPN, and for the first time ever, it’ll be simulcast to Disney+. In fact, it’ll be the first time live non-animated sports are streaming on Disney+.

If you don’t have cable, Disney+ is actually the most cost-effective way to tune into tonight’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun (plus, it’ll be followed by Phoenix Mercury at last year’s champion Las Vegas Aces).

Disney+ costs $7.99/month with ads (less than ESPN+’s $10.99/month price) and $13.99/month without ads — since the game is a live event, it’ll have ads no matter which subscription you choose.

Additionally, you can bundle Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN+ to catch future WNBA games for $14.99/month with ads or $24.99/month without ads.

Can I watch Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun for free?

While Disney+ does not have a free trial, there is a way to watch the game for free. Hulu + Live TV, which comes with live ESPN and Disney+, recently began offering a three-day free trial for new users.

After the trial period is over, it’ll cost $76.99/month.

Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun preview

According to an ESPN analytics matchup predictor, the Sun have a 63.9% chance of winning tonight’s game.

Last season, the two teams met four times during the regular season; Connecticut won all four of those matchups, but Indiana didn’t have Clark last season.

A player like her could turn out to make a huge difference.
