The summer of Banana Ball continues tonight with another televised Savannah Bananas game on ESPN.
Tonight, the Bananas take over Citizen’s Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, to take on the Texas Tailgaters.
The Savannah Bananas play an exciting take on baseball that emphasizes trick plays, showmanship, and fan participation, not unlike the exhibition take on basketball that the Harlem Globetrotters popularized.
The team is spending the summer on the road, playing against the three other Banana Ball teams, the Party Animals, the Firefighters, and the Tailgaters.
