Howie Rose is expected to replace retired Hall of Famer Bob Murphy on Met radio broadcasts, The Post has learned.

Sources said yesterday that a deal is being worked out so Rose will become Gary Cohen’s new partner.

The only way Rose, a Queens native, won’t be Murphy’s replacement is if there is some unforeseen snag in negotiations.

Marlins broadcaster Jon Sciambi and WFAN Met beat reporter Ed Coleman were the other main candidates.

With the new gig, the 49-year-old Rose will be a busy man. Along with his Met assignments on WFAN, he will continue as the TV voice of the Islanders on Fox Sports New York.

WFAN program director Mark Chernoff wanted his new team to work as much of the 162-game scheduled as possible. But accommodations would be made for Rose.
