Hull earned promotion to England’s top soccer league for the first time in its 104-history, beating Bristol City 1-0 today in the League Championship playoff final at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Dean Windass scored for his hometown club on a spectacular volley in the 38th minute.

The victory will be worth as much as $119 million to the team in television money, sponsorship and other revenue.

“It’s just surreal,” Windass said. “To score the winning goal? I’m just lost for words.”
