SARATOGA SPRINGS – Looking for a live long shot to close out the day? In today’s ninth race, at a mile over the inner turf course, try True Linnet, who is 30-1 on the morning line.

The 3-year-old colt, claimed by Joe Aquilino last out from Chris Clement, is a son of Irish Linnet, the New York-bred mare who won the Yaddo Stakes over the turf at Saratoga five years in a row (1991-95).

Although True Linnet is stepping up from $25,000 to $35,000 in claiming price, his previous races, both on turf, were good. He won first time out in March for a $50,000 tag at Tampa Bay, then was fourth July 17 at Belmont, rallying to lose by 1 ¼ lengths.
