TCU, which was the No. 3 team in the College Football Playoff last week, won by 52 points on Saturday. And the Horned Frogs dropped out of the coveted top four.
A 55-3 demolition of Iowa State hurt TCU’s case because of the hit it took to its strength of schedule, and the playoff committee let Florida State and Ohio State leapfrog the Frogs. Baylor was left on the outside looking in, too, as the Big 12 was shut out of the playoff.
After the perceived slight, TCU players understandably have erupted on Twitter. A few have found an unlikely ringleader, retweeting the unctuous, contrarian-for-contrarian’s-sake Skip Bayless.
Desmon White, a freshman wide receiver, was among the few to leap on the ESPN machine’s bandwagon.
