WASHINGTON – Once again, the Islanders’ ownership situation officially has been thrown into uncertainty.

After leading a group that has agreed to purchase the Redskins for $700-plus million, Islanders co-owner Howard Milstein will have to sell his 45 percent share of the NHL club to abide by the NFL’s co-ownership rules.

Bob Gutkowski, the former MSG president, is in the process of forming a group in attempt to purchase Milstein’s 45 percent, The Post has learned. A group tried to buy the Isles in the summer of September and failed….
