MET NOTES
ST. LOUIS – David Wright doesn’t have any NLCS hits yet.
The Met third baseman went 0-for-3 in last night’s 5-0, Game 3 loss to the Cardinals, and in the three games so far, he is hitless in nine at-bats.
Wright flied out to right, lined out to short, and grounded out to third last night. He does have three walks in the series.

Calling on Julio Franco to pinch-hit in the playoffs hasn’t yielded much – other than strikeouts.
Franco has compiled four playoff at-bats in the Mets’ five games so far. He’s gone 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and an RBI groundout and has struck out both times he’s come up in the NLCS. He did not pinch hit last night.
The Mets have other bench options to pinch hit from the right side, including Chris Woodward; Michael Tucker is their main lefty pinch hitter. But yesterday Willie Randolph said he would be standing by Franco.
“He’s my pinch-hitter and he’s experienced at it, of course. We’re going to keep going to him like we would a closer or anything like that,” Randolph said. “No, Franco is going to be fine. He’s been kind of getting himself out a little bit and that’s just typical sometimes when you swing at bad pitches and I think that’s what we’ve done for the most part.
“He knows how to handle himself in that way and he’s one of the best at it, and best of all time, so I’m not going to give up on him now.”
During the season, Franco hit .250 as a pinch hitter, going 15-for-60.

Randolph confirmed yesterday that Tom Glavine would definitely take the mound tomorrow for Game 5. Glavine will be pitching on three days rest. . . . Cliff Floyd (Achilles) didn’t play for the second straight game last night. Endy Chavez played left field again and went 0-for-3.
